Manufacturer of the NASCO Loadster All Terrain Forklift
Nasco Equipment Co. was founded in 1966, producing forklifts
for a multitude of purposes such as logging, primarily in Alabama,
Florida, and Georgia. Toyal Jackson joined Nasco in 1982 and
in 1984 he and a partner (Jerry Brown) bought the Company.
They decided to focus on the Auto Salvage Industry and expand
their sales nationally and internationally.
When Mr. Brown passed away in September of 1997, Toyal Jackson
then became principal owner and CEO.
Simply modifying a normal forklift is like "trying to turn a farm tractor
into a bulldozer," Toyal said. Before the specially designed forklift
was developed, salvage yards used mostly truck mounted poles with
a wrench and articulating front-end loaders, which were slow, bulky
and cost approximately $125,000.00 each.
Nasco has three models of forklifts most under $50,000.00. Nascos
special design features enable our lifts to carry cars and trucks over
rough terrain, and are alot more maneuverable. This lets you put alot
more cars per acre. We are currently working on our new
DM4WT-10L4 (14K capacity).
This model should be available early 1999.
There is enough Auto Salvage business in this country that will never
exhaust it. 99.7% of our machines are sold to salvage yards and
pools. Florida was the first state which we pushed into the salvage
market and we sell more forklifts there than any other state.
This year Nasco has developed Blade attachments for our lifts.
Quick disconnect for our model forklift as well as others. These
blades are designed for yard and road maintenance. |
